CASE STUDY:
GREAT AMERICAN DEALS
PLATFORM LAUNCH
Never underestimate the impact of collective buying power.
All the right ingredients: A new online shopping hub designed to tap the power of group buying. A celebrity spokesperson with a household name. An attractive franchised employment opportunity. Plus, the contemporary appeal of supporting “mom and pop,” neighborhood-based retail establishments and the local shopping experience. Enter a new company called Great American Deals to the marketplace to take on Groupon and other similar models. BrandEcho was tasked in 2014 with helping game show host and TV icon Pat Sajak create a successful launch model for this breakthrough online shopping platform.
It’s All about Hyperlocal Retail

The agency helped Great American Deals to shape a compelling story around the power of the hyperlocal buying trend. Our charge was to help the company merely lay the right foundation: develop messaging, craft key written materials and kickstart the early phases of a flourishing News Bureau. BrandEcho worked closely with company founders, including Pat Sajak, to use effective “story mapping” techniques to articulate potential story themes and marketing persona targets. The scope of projects also included social media support, website augmentation, sales sheet development, trade show creative, and creation of a strategic support “toolkit” for new franchisees to assist them in implementing their own communications templates across regional operations.
Launch coverage for Great American Deals included interviews for Pat Sajak and ensuing feature stories in outlets such as Fox Business, Entrepreneur, KFWB-AM Radio, Franchising USA, Franchise Times, and more. The agency also commissioned the development of an interstitial “hand sketch video” to introduce specifics of the Great American Deals platform and help bring the brand’s unique hyperlocal selling concept, as well as its franchisee model and various offerings, to market.
