CASE STUDY:
SHOPULAR
SEASONAL PUBLICITY
Shopping. For some, it’s a passion—for others, it’s an art.
For BrandEcho client Shopular, the smart phone app that keeps subscribers geo-tuned into great offers and sale deals, it was a category-changing opportunity. Entering a cluttered retail environment, Shopular needed a tactical communications and awareness-building program that would leverage the seasonal retail buying spike, while also promoting thematic marketing initiatives to grow brand engagement.

Holiday Shopping Goes Mobile!

In 2015, BrandEcho formulated a multi-tiered media relations and online strategy centered around growing interest in mobile shopping during the summer, Back to School, and holiday sales seasons. Through a series of tiered campaigns including a “Holiday Shopping Goes Mobile!” initiative, the agency garnered extensive press interest and engagement that helped Shopular to stake a dominate claim in the mobile shopping arena.
Tactics included infographics to generate interest and sharing on social platforms; a matte article to reach non-metro communities; various consumer surveys that purveyed attitudes and behavior involving mobile shopping; and feature press outreach, such as the below holiday teaser campaign. The results grabbed headlines, moving the needle for the growing brand. Shopular was featured in a segment on NBC’s “Today Show,” and other high profile press hits followed to help lay the foundation for the brand’s eventual acquisition by online retail powerhouse Ebates.com.
